Do Democrats consider Obama black, white, or both?

Personally I consider him black. I think most Republicans do too. It seems that Obama and his liberal supporters are downplaying that hes actually black. Like how many times does he talk about inner city or black problems? Hes worried about the Middle East and other stuff. Is he denying his blackness?
