Why does the media continue to downplay the seriousness of the disaster at Fukashima?

..they keep talking about 'restoring cooling' ect ect .. im no expert but im not delusional about what has happened either even observing on the surface and between the lines its obvious there were explosions that demolished beyond 'repair' the entire systems of SEVERAL reactors, not just one, and also its obvious that most likely more than one reactor went to full meltdown which means radioactive material has breached the containment vessles and is essentially burning into the surrounding area out of control ... so why all the nonsense about 'getting it under control' or 'restoring cooling' .. i mean come on ..
